Business Matching Event Expected to Expand Philippines-Jordan Trade

AMMAN 08 February 2025 - With the aim of enhancing trade and economic cooperation between Jordan and the Philippines, a business matching activity slated on 11 February 2025 is being arranged by the Philippine Embassy in Jordan together with the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC). 

During a press briefing conducted today, Philippine Ambassador to Jordan, His Excellency Wilfredo C. Santos, together with Second Secretary and Consul Angeli A. Payumo and Philippine Trade Commissioner Vichael Angelo D. Roaring of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Dubai, who arrived today in Jordan, explained the goals of the Business, Trade and Investment Mission.

The mission will bring together 13 companies from the Philippines’ food and personal care sectors and their counterpart companies in Jordan to discuss opportunities for joint ventures and expanding their businesses’ reach in both countries. 

"This mission underscores the Philippines’ commitment to deepening the economic ties between the Philippines and Jordan. It reflects our strong engagement to expanding our access to the Jordanian market and building long-term partnerships with our Jordanian counterparts," Ambassador Santos said.  

“The Philippines is open for business. As one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia, it offers a competitive business environment, a skilled workforce, and high-quality export products that meet global standards, including halal-certified and sustainably produced goods.” Trade Commission Roaring added.

The ACC, along with participating Jordanian businesses, will welcome both the government and business delegation from the Philippines headed by Deputy Agriculture Minister Asis G. Perez, Philippine Trade Commissioner Vichael Angelo D. Roaring of the Philippine Trade and other key officials from the Philippines’ Department of Trade and Industry.

The event will include a short program where participating Philippine and Jordanian companies will be informed about the sourcing opportunities and requirements of both countries. There will also be a discussion on the investment opportunities in Jordan.

The Philippine Embassy in Jordan, headed by Ambassador Wilfredo C. Santos, expressed its appreciation for the ACC’s efforts to ensure the event’s success. 

The Philippine Government is always keen to foster ties with Jordan’s esteemed institutions to create a win-win scenario that will boost both countries’ economies and foster lasting cultural and diplomatic relations. END
