10 April 2025 - As part of the official and technical procedures for the commencement of the Online Overseas Voting for registered Filipino voters in Jordan, the Philippine Embassy in Jordan, led by His Excellency Wilfredo C. Santos, successfully conducted the Final Lockdown and Sealing (FLS) of the Online Voting and Counting System (OVCS) on 10 April 2025 at the Overseas Voting Kiosk at the Embassy chancery.

The activity was facilitated by the Embassy’s duly-constituted Special Board of Election Inspectors (SBEI) with assistance from the Special Ballot Reception and Custody Group (SBRCG). To ensure full transparency of the process and integrity of the voting system, the official OVCS laptop provided by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) was presented to the public to show that it has not been initialized and has a zero vote count prior to the start of the 2025 National Elections Overseas on 13 April 2025.

Leaders from various Filipino organizations in Jordan were present as official observers during the process.

The 2025 National Elections for Overseas Filipinos will run from 13 April to 12 May 2025. The Embassy reminds the public that registration alone is not enough—eligible voters must also be enrolled in the online voting system before they can cast their votes. All

registered Filipino voters in Jordan are strongly encouraged to participate and exercise their right to vote.

With the successful completion of the FLS, the Philippine Embassy in Jordan is fully prepared to commence Online Overseas Voting on Sunday, 13 April 2025, at 8:00 AM (Jordan time). This marks a historic milestone as the first-ever implementation of Philippine internet voting in Jordan. END
