PH Embassy in Jordan Begins Canvassing Procedures for 2025 Overseas Elections
AMMAN, 12 May 2025 — The Philippine Embassy in Amman formally initiated the canvassing procedures for the 2025 Overseas National Elections on Monday, in accordance with Section 14 of Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Resolution No. 11081.
At exactly 10:00 A.M. (Jordan time), or 3:00 P.M. in the Philippines, the Special Board of Canvassers (SBOC), led by Philippine Ambassador to Jordan H.E. Wilfredo C. Santos, convened the official start of canvassing procedures.
Ambassador Santos introduced the members of the SBOC, including Vice Chairperson and Second Secretary and Consul Ms. Angeli A. Payumo, Secretary Ms. Teressa M. Modesto, and Consolidation and Canvassing System (CCS) Operator Mr. Allan G. Oseo, Jr. Also present were Reception and Custody Group (RCG) members Ms. Rachel Joy A. Pamorada, and Mr. Casimra K. During the session, the SBOC verified and displayed the sealed CCS kit received from COMELEC, confirming it was intact and complete. The system was then set up, and the Initialization Report was presented to the observers and watchers in attendance. The Initialization Report indicated zero votes for all candidates and parties prior to the close of voting at 2:00 P.M. Jordan Time. This ensures the transparency and integrity of the process.

The SBOC is scheduled to reconvene at 2:00 P.M. (7:00 P.M. Philippine time) to begin the official canvassing of votes following the close of overseas voting in Jordan. END
