While the bilateral relations of the Philippines and Jordan may be characterized as strong and cordial, there remains much potential for further strengthening and deepening these ties.

Over the past few years, the interaction between the two countries has been largely driven by the need for greater cooperation on labor issues due to the presence of a significant number of Filipino workers in Jordan, mostly employed in domestic service. The preoccupation with labor concerns has inhibited broader cooperation in other areas, such as trade and investment, tourism promotion, and socio-cultural interaction.

The absence of a resident Jordanian mission in Manila also makes it difficult to manage the bilateral relationship albeit an Honorary Consul has been appointed under the jurisdiction of the Jordanian Embassy in Tokyo.

Believing in the potential of expanded cooperation between the Republic of the Philippines and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the mutual benefits that such development could bring to the peoples of both countries, the Embassy seeks to raise awareness in Jordan and among Jordanians about the myriad opportunities that are available to them for expanding and enhancing their interaction with the Philippines and Filipinos. Among the opportunities available are those in the areas of:

  • Trade and Investments

  • Travel and Tourism
