The Eid Al Adha was a long holiday in Jordan, but Ambassador Olivia V. Palala and her team of Embassy officers and staff opted to spend it for the Overseas Absentee Voting registration. From October 25 to October 27, Amman PE held an OAV registration outreach for Filipino nationals working in the Dead Sea and Aqaba, to increase the number of its new registrants for the OAV.

Under the leadership of Ambassador, the outreach team was able to register around 150 Filipino workers working at the Lagoon Hotel, Kempinski Hotel and Crowne Plaza Hotel, all located around the Dead Sea area. Most of these workers arrived in Jordan just this year. Citizen registration was also conducted in line with the Embassy’s efforts to map all Filipinos, documented or undocumented, living and working in Jordan.

From the Dead Sea, the outreach team proceeded to Aqaba to conduct an OAV mission there as well.

The OAV outreach was the culmination of Amman PE's efforts to encourage as many Filipino nationals as possible to register for the OAV before 31 October 2012.
