Ambassador Olivia V. Palala presented her Letter of Credence as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan (along with the Letter of Recall of her predecessor) to King Abdullah II on Monday, 03 September 2012, at the Basman Palace in Amman, Jordan. She was accompanied by Mr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez, First Secretary and Consul; Mr. Jeffrey P. Salik, Third Secretary and Vice Consul; and Ms. Maria Rosamy B. Reyes, Administrative Officer and Attaché.
Seven other ambassadors presented their credentials to the King on the same day.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Palala conveyed to the Hashemite monarch the sincere desire of the Philippine government to foster and enhance the long-standing friendship between the two countries. The King, on the other hand, expressed his government's desire to enhance bilateral economic relations with the Philippines, especially in the field of trade and investment.
The ceremony was capped by a visit to the royal cemetery where Ambassador Palala offered wreaths to the tombs of the deceased monarchs of Jordan - King Hussein, King Abdullah I, and King Talal.
