The Filipino Organization in Jordan (Fil-Org Jordan) joined forces with certified and qualified Filipino and Jordanian nurses from Al Khalidi Hospital to conduct a Caregivers' Course for OFWs wanting to enhance their skills in care-giving. The six-month Caregivers' Course was conducted at the premises of the Philippine Embassy in Amman.

Last May 4, 2012, sixty-six trainees graduated from the course and were given their certificates in ceremonies held at the Teachers' Club auditorium in Amman. It is hoped that their added skills will expand their employment opportunities in Jordan, where the demand for caregivers is expected to increase. In her speech to the graduates, Fil-Org President, Ms. Evangeline Ybo, applauded the participants for their determination to upgrade their skills. She likewise thanked their employers for allowing their household workers to participate in such programs, adding that their workers' added skills will ultimately redound to their own benefit by way of improved services.

Back to back with the graduation was the awarding of the Ten Best Employees for 2012. The awardees were chosen on the basis of their length of service, the recommendations given by their group leaders, as well as the endorsements of their employers.

In his message, Charge d'Affaires Emmanuel R. Fernandez lauded the graduates of the Caregivers' Course and the Best Employee awardees alike for the good reputation they are creating for all Filipino workers in Jordan. He said that their dedication to their work and their determination to enhance their abilities through attendance in trainings like the Caregivers' Course, highlight for Jordanians how valuable Filipino workers are. He urged other OFWs to follow their example.

Welfare Officer and POLO Officer in Charge Mr. Mario Antonio delivered the Labor Day Message of Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz and reiterated POLO-OWWA's commitment to protect the rights and promote the welfare of OFWs in Jordan.
