The festival, which opened on 04 August, is an annual summer event in various parts of Amman being organized by the Greater Amman Municipality. It offers the Jordanian public free fun and entertainment and aims to further enhance tourism, showcasing Amman as a peaceful and stable multicultural city.

Philippine participation in the Amman Summer Festival contributes to further strengthening the bilateral cultural ties, formalized through the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation last June 27.
