 Philippine Embassy in Jordan Resumes Consular Outreach in the

West Bank, State of Palestine

The Philippine Embassy in Jordan successfully held its first consular outreach mission to Nablus and Ramallah in the State of Palestine from 21 to 23 August 2022, since the COVID-19 pandemic brought travel restrictions and border closures in March 2020.

The delegation was headed by Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Angeli A. Payumo, and facilitated the concerns of around 53 families for various consular services, such as passport renewal, issuance of travel documents, notarial, and Embassy ID application. The Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) Jordan, led by Labor Attaché Armi Evangel N. Peña, introduced its mandate and services to the Filipinos who attended the outreach mission. Under the One Country Team Approach (OCTA), the team also conducted welfare checks on the Filipino nationals living there.

The Philippine Embassy has consular jurisdiction over the State of Palestine. Based on the latest information, it is estimated to have around 500 Filipinos, the majority of whom are spouses of Palestinian nationals and their children
