PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO MFAE ACTING SECRETARY-GENERAL

28 DECEMBER 2022 - Newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, His Excellency Wilfredo C. Santos, met with the Acting Secretary-General and concurrent Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, His Excellency Hazem Al-Khatib, to present an open copy of the Letter of Credence from President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.

Both sides had a fruitful discussion on Philippines-Jordan relations and other areas of mutual concern. Ambassador Santos also commended Jordan for its sustained efforts in combating terrorism and violent extremism and for the role it plays as a beacon of stability in the region. H.E. Al-Khatib emphasized that His Majesty King Abdullah II remains steadfast in his endeavor to ensure that Jordan stays responsive to security challenges, as evidenced by the Aqaba Process and his other notable initiatives, in which the Philippines remains an active participant. The two officials further reaffirmed the two countries’ commitment to strengthen and deepen the bilateral ties on various fronts for the benefit of the Philippine and Jordanian peoples. END
