Philippine Embassy Witnesses the Official Opening of MV LOGOS Hope
The Philippine Embassy, led by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Angeli A. Payumo, attended the official opening of MV LOGOS Hope International Bookfair in Aqaba, Jordan on January 26, 2023, as part of the ship’s regional tour, following Lebanon and Egypt.
Her Royal Highness Princess Rym Al-Ali of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor, along with other local dignitaries, and press members. The opening ceremony featured the history and advocacies of the MV Logos Hope, as well as its diverse international crew of volunteers from over 65 countries.
In every port they visit, the ship shares “Knowledge, Help, and Hope”, and focuses on being of service to educational and cultural institutions by enriching them with quality literature and holding various cultural events, and providing aid and humanitarian assistance to places in disaster zones.
MV Logos Hope is operated by GBA Ships, a German non-profit organization, and is known worldwide as the “Largest Floating Bookfair”. It carries over 5,000 different book titles on a wide variety of topics.
Book lovers, young and old alike are welcome to board the MV Logos Hope in Aqaba, Jordan from January 26 until February 16, 2023. END
