Philippine Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, H.E. Wilfredo C. Santos, met for the second time with the Director for Consular Affairs H.E. Sinan Al Majali, yesterday, 09 July 2023, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates (MFAE).

The two officials discussed how the Philippines and Jordan could lay the groundwork for future collaborations, particularly on matters involving Filipino workers in Jordan. H.E. Al Majali has expressed Jordan’s readiness to explore with the Philippine Embassy ways and means to address labor and immigration concerns. Both officials agreed that the welfare of the Filipino workers should be protected within the two countries' legal framework.

Ambassador Santos conveyed his gratitude to Jordan for allowing its doors to be open to 43,000 Filipinos. He also welcomed this opportunity to strengthen the two countries’ partnership in promoting the rights and protecting the welfare of Filipino nationals who made the Kingdom their second home.

Accompanying Ambassador Santos during the call was Third Secretary and Vice Consul Sheila Andales and Labor Attaché Armi Evangel Peña. Aside from being the Head of the Consular Affairs Department and Operations Center Unit, Director Sinan Al Majali also serves as the Spokesperson of the MFAE. END
