PH Embassy Supports First-Ever PH Booth at the University of Jordan International Cultural Bazaar

12 December 2023 - The Philippine Embassy in Jordan, represented by Cultural Officer Elijah I. Ang-Encarnacion and Secretary to the Ambassador Rachel Joy Pamorada, visited the first-ever Philippine booth set-up by Filipino students at the University of Jordan International Bazaar on 12 December 2023.  

The Philippine Embassy provided Philippine tourism brochures and other materials in support of the international cultural bazaar, which were distributed to the bazaar goers. This one-day event was organized by the University of Jordan to welcome new students and to entice more international students to enroll in various courses offered by the University.

At the opening ceremony, new students and international students were welcomed by University of Jordan President, Professor Dr. Nazir Odaidat. A total of 40 newly enrolled Filipino students were admitted in September 2023 pursuing Bachelor’s and Master's studies.

The event was attended by the members of the Diplomatic Corps in Amman, students, faculty members, and other University officials. END 

Ms. Cristel Gutierrez, a student who represented the Philippines, said in her speech during the opening ceremony that everyone is welcome to visit the beautiful country, Philippines.

Students from all nationalities visit the Philippine Booth, try Filipino snacks, and learn Filipino greetings.
