AMMAN 15 December 2023 - The Philippine Embassy in Jordan attended the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Migrants’ Voices, featuring an art exhibit and workshop by PintaKultura Amman, a migrant-led Filipino art association, on 15 December 2023 at Manara Arts & Culture, Jabal Al Weibdeh.
The International Migrant Day is observed every year on December 18. With this year’s theme "Act Today", the event served as a call to action and a platform to shed light on the experiences and challenges faced by migrants in Jordan and gave information about their rights, obligations and services available from various organizations represented in the country, including IOM.
Different nationalities participated in an abstract art therapy workshop for migrants in collaboration with PintaKultura Amman, featuring Filipino artist and migrant worker Med Guinto.
The event also served as a cultural exchange and offered migrants in Jordan a space for discussion, exchange and recreation, and was attended by migrants of all nationalities, IOM's partners, and diplomatic missions. END
