Philippine Embassy explores collaboration with Pintakultura Amman to promote Philippine culture in Jordan

The PintaKultura Amman, a collective of Filipino artists based in Amman, paid a courtesy call on the Philippine Ambassador to Jordan Wilfredo C. Santos at the Philippine Embassy on 19 March 2024.

During the meeting, both sides had a productive discussion on opportunities for collaboration to highlight the richness of Philippine culture through various art forms. Through this collaboration, the Philippine Embassy sought to showcase Filipino talent and raise awareness about important social issues affecting the Philippines and the global community. Ambassador Santos commended Pintakultura’s efforts in engaging the local community through their work, and assured them of the Embassy's support for their upcoming projects.

Pintakultura Amman established themselves as a group in 2021, and currently has nine (9) active artists. From then on, they have joined several group exhibitions and even held one solo art exhibit in December 2022.

The members of Pintakultura Amman who were present at the Embassy for the call were Renalou Cabuyadao, Rhowen Cariño, Jorry Porcia, and Jeromel Dela Rosa Lara. Mr. Lara is a Filipino student at the University of Oxford who is pursuing a master’s degree in migration studies.

After the meeting, the group donated a painting of the Philippine Eagle to the Philippine Embassy. Ms. Jorry Porcia, the artist behind the artwork, shared that her inspiration came from the beauty and significance of the Philippine national bird. The Philippine Embassy expressed deep gratitude for the thoughtful gesture and highlighted the importance of preserving the rich biodiversity of the Philippines. END
