Philippine Ambassador Graces Grand Opening of El Shaddai-Jordan Chapter
Philippine Ambassador to Jordan His Excellency Wilfredo C. Santos attended the Grand Opening of the El Shaddai Jordan Chapter on 10 May 2024 at the Annunciation of Mary Church in Jabal Webdeh, Amman.
In his special remarks, Ambassador Santos underscored the significant role of El Shaddai in fostering unity and a spirit of togetherness among its members and followers.
“I highly commend the El Shaddai Catholic movement for creating a faithful community that is inclusive, compassionate, and supportive, where everyone is welcomed with open arms. As the members of El Shaddai embark on this journey, may you find abundance in blessings, strength in unity, and joy in serving your community. May you create a sanctuary of peace for all who seek solace and spiritual growth, and where every individual can find the support they need to overcome their challenges”, Ambassador Santos said.
The event officially acknowledges the El Shaddai Jordan Chapter, established in 2018 in Jordan by Sis. Melissa Elemia, who serves as the coordinator and founder in Jordan. Over one hundred (100) El Shaddai members and guests graced the occasion, with the presence of the UAE-based El Shaddai councils overseen by Bro. Gerald Olores, the El Shaddai Disciple in Mission responsible for El Shaddai in the entire Middle East. Rev. Fr. Gerard Joaquin Masangya, the Filipino Chaplain of the Philippine Catholic Chaplaincy Center in Amman, was also present during the event. It was also a moment of thanksgiving for the El Shaddai members who filled the event with life testimonies, special prayers and moments of worship.
El Shaddai is an international fellowship and the biggest catholic charismatic movement in the Philippines led by its Servant Leader, Bro. Mike Velarde. It was founded in 1984 and now has a total of about 8 million members worldwide. END
