PH Embassy Facilitates Successful Border Crossing of 4 Filipino Nationals from the West Bank

10 June 2024 - The Embassy of the Philippines in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan successfully provided border crossing assistance to four (4) Filipino nationals living in Bethlehem, West Bank, Palestine on 10 June 2024.

The Philippine Embassy in Amman made appropriate representations to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates as well to the Jordanian Border Security to facilitate their entry to Jordan.

The Filipinos were met by Embassy personnel at the King Hussein border where they were given the appropriate assistance and transit visas and were brought to the Embassy Chancery. The Embassy gave further assistance to bring them to their hotel accommodations while waiting for their scheduled flight to the Philippines on 12 June 2024.

There are currently a total of 121 Filipinos in the West Bank, composed of 92 resident Filipinos married to Palestinian nationals, their children and grandchildren, as well as nine (9) nuns from different religious congregations and 20 OFWs.

This is the fourth batch where border assistance was extended to the Filipino nationals in the West Bank and undertaken by the Philippine Embassy in Amman, which has concurrent jurisdiction in the State of Palestine. The first batch of two (2) Filipinos from the West Bank were repatriated on 08 November 2023, the second batch of five (5) Filipinos were repatriated on 23 November 2023, and the third batch of five (5) Filipinos were repatriated on 05 December 2023.
