The Philippine Embassy in Jordan attended the "Christianity in Jordan": Legacy, History, and Civilization (1860-1960) Photography Exhibition and Book Launch on 28 August 2024 at the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts. The opening night of the exhibition was graced by the presence of the Minister of Culture, Her Excellency, Ms. Haifa Najjar.

The special exhibition presents a captivating visual exploration of Jordan's rich religious and architectural legacy, fostering a deep appreciation among the exhibit-goers for the spiritual and cultural heritage of the country depicted in the images, and encouraging them to reflect on the importance of the Christian churches.

The exhibit features a unique collection from the archive of the Latin Patriarchate in Jerusalem, which was digitized and enlarged, along with contributions from other private archives and contemporary photography.

The project is presented by the Friends of Jordan Festivals Association with support from the Jordan Tourism Board, in partnership with the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, the Royal Institute for Interfaith Studies, Darat Al-Tasweer, and the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts. The exhibit will run until 28 September 2024.

Representing the Philippine Embassy during the opening night were the Cultural, Community, and Public Information (CCPI) section including Second Secretary and Consul Angeli A. Payumo, Third Secretary and Vice Consul Sheila Marie Andales, and Cultural Officer Elijah Ang-Encarnacion. END
