Philippine Embassy Congratulates the Ministry of Culture on the Successful Launch of the Thaqafa Platform 

AMMAN, 04 September 2024 - The Philippine Embassy in Jordan congratulated the Ministry of Culture on the successful launch of the Thaqafa Platform today, 04 September 2024, at the Royal Cultural Center in Amman.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture, and is under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Al-Khasawneh of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Minister of Culture, Her Excellency Haifa Al-Najjar, stated that the Thaqafa platform is a digital initiative to market and promote Jordanian cultural and creative industries, to open an online platform for creators and workers in the cultural, artistic, and crafts fields to showcase their work, and to offer online markets for selling handicrafts globally. Additionally, the Thaqafa Platform aims to provide training programs for individuals working in those sectors.

She further stressed that the platform also seeks to provide an opportunity to view the cultural, historical and civilizational scene to introduce Jordanian creators’ creativity, and provide content through a window to communicate with those searching for Jordanian cultural and artistic heritage. 

The event was attended by several diplomats, cultural enthusiasts and government officials. Representing the Philippine Embassy were Third Secretary and Vice Consul Sheila Marie Andales and Cultural Officer Elijah Ang-Encarnacion. END
