PH Embassy Seeks Areas for Further Economic Collaboration through the Jordan Financial Expo and Awards (JFEX) 2024

04 September 2024 - As part of its initiatives and efforts to seek out potential areas of collaboration for economic development between the Philippines and Jordan, the Philippine Embassy, through its Political and Economic Section, attended the Jordan Financial Expo and Award (JFEX) 2024 on 03 and 04 September 2024 at the Mövenpick Hotel Amman. 

 

The two-day expo emphasized the importance of the role of financial institutions in mobilizing private and public funds for productive investments that will contribute to the boost of Jordan’s economy. In line with the Economic Modernisation Vision, Jordan is increasingly looking into attracting foreign investment, utilizing artificial intelligence (AI), decentralizing finances, enhancing business competitiveness, lobbying for more investor-friendly financial policies to the legislation, and incentivizing  new business and foreign markets for preferential tax treatment to boost the economy and generate new employment opportunities. 

 

The Philippine Embassy also visited the booths of various exhibitors offering competitive online trading hubs for forex, digital currencies, stocks and bonds. The Embassy engaged with said exhibitors to gain the latest insights on Jordan’s financial markets and fiscal policies which could benefit Philippine businesses interested in investing in Jordan.

 

The JFEX is the premier event for various financial institutions, both public and private,  to gain valuable insights into Jordan’s market trends from financial experts and specialists. It aims to gather leading minds in finance, financial technology, forex for networking, knowledge and technology sharing, and strategic collaborations between financial institutions, government and regulatory bodies, institutional traders and investors, financial technology companies, consultants, and public sector businesses. Since its inception in 2007, the expo has become a significant platform for stakeholders in the financial sector to network, share insights and technologies, and explore emerging and evolving financial market trends. The JFEX 2024 witnessed the participation of over 1000 visitors from the public and private sectors, more than 30 exhibitors. 25 speakers and more than 10 dialogues/panel discussions.

 

The event was attended by Second Secretary and Consul Angeli A. Payumo, Third Secretary and Vice Consul Sheila Marie G. Andales, and Political and Economic Assistant Ma. Jolina M. Guerrero. END
