Philippine Embassy, National Museum of the Philippines Collaborate to Raise PH Culture and Art Awareness in Jordan

The Philippine Embassy in Jordan held virtual meetings with officials from the National Museum of the Philippines on 09 and 18 September 2024 to explore potential collaborative projects showcasing Filipino art, history, and cultural heritage.

Ideas flowed freely as representatives from both sides discussed a variety of cultural initiatives aimed at enhancing bilateral ties and fostering mutual understanding between the Philippines and Jordan. The Embassy expressed its keenness to pursue a long-term partnership with the National Museum with a particular highlight on a major event forming part of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations of the Philippines with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in 2026.

Both the Philippine Embassy in Jordan and the National Museum of the Philippines expressed enthusiasm for these collaborative efforts, recognizing the importance of public and cultural diplomacy in strengthening bilateral relations.

The National Museum of the Philippines is an institution dedicated to preserving and showcasing Filipino cultural heritage and natural history. It manages museums in Manila and regional locations, fostering public appreciation and scholarly study of art, artifacts, and specimens.

The officials from the National Museum of the Philippines who attended the online meetings were led by Mr. Alvin Anthony S. Claveria, Supervising Administrative Officer of the Central Museum Visitor Operations Division. The Philippine Embassy was represented by the Cultural, Community, and Public Information (CCPI) Section including Second Secretary and Consul Angeli A. Payumo, Third Secretary and Vice Consul Sheila Marie G. Andales, Cultural Officer Elijah Ang-Encarnacion, and Secretary to the Ambassador Rachel Joy Pamorada. END
