Philippine Embassy Supports Kulinarya Jordan at the Winter Bazaar 2024
The Philippine Embassy in Jordan, under the leadership of His Excellency Wilfredo C. Santos, proudly supported Kulinarya Jordan in its participation at the Winter Bazaar 2024, held on December 20 at the Besttroo Cafe on Rainbow Street, Amman. The event was co-organized by Kulinarya Jordan and Abu Sheikha Exchange, with the primary goal of fostering cultural connections and celebrating the diversity and friendship between the Filipino and Jordanian communities.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Santos expressed his enthusiasm for the event and said, "This Winter Bazaar presents an exceptional opportunity to celebrate creativity, community, and culture. It offers a vibrant atmosphere for both dining and shopping, providing us all with a chance to connect with one another, support local businesses, and enjoy the warmth of shared traditions during this beautiful season. As we gather today, we are reminded of the importance of promoting cultural exchange and celebrating the diversity that makes both the Philippine and Jordanian communities so vibrant. I encourage all of you to take your time and explore the stalls, engage with the wonderful people behind the food and crafts, and enjoy everything this event has to offer.”
The event featured an exciting array of food offerings from Kulinarya Jordan, alongside a variety of Jordanian vendors, bringing together a unique blend of local and Filipino traditions. Featured dishes included a selection of Filipino favorites such as silog meals, chicken macaroni salad, sopas, arrozcaldo, beef caldereta, pancit, spring rolls, shanghai, and Christmas-themed pastries. Handicrafts such as crochet items and accessories were also available.
Kulinarya Jordan, established by the Philippine Embassy in 2022, played a central role in this year’s Winter Bazaar. The initiative was founded to support Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who are in the food and catering business. It is also a unique platform that serves as a strategic vehicle for promoting the Philippines as an attractive destination for tourism and investment.
The Winter Bazaar 2024 brought together the Filipino and Jordanian communities to celebrate the holiday season and promote community spirit and cultural exchange, with around 200 visitors who attended the event.
