Philippine Embassy Sponsors Final Night of Simbang Gabi in Jordan
The Philippine Embassy in Jordan, led by His Excellency Wilfredo C. Santos, sponsored the final night of Simbang Gabi at St. Joseph Parish Church in 1st Circle, Amman on 23 December 2024. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by the Filipino Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Gerald Metal. The mass was attended by Philippine Embassy staff, officials from the Migrant Workers Office in Jordan, their families, and over a hundred Filipino parishioners.
In his Christmas message, Ambassador Santos emphasized the significance of unity, shared values, and extending support to those in need, especially this holiday season. He also encouraged the Filipino community to stay connected with their families through technology and share festive moments despite the distance.
Ambassador Santos then thanked the parishioners for their active support and concluded his speech with warm holiday greetings. “As we approach the end of 2024, we reflect on the invaluable support from our parishioners and your active participation in the Philippine Embassy programs throughout the year. You have consistently been our partner in sustaining our community's strength and in nurturing the spirit of Bayanihan. As we look forward to the new year, we remain committed to fostering this spirit of togetherness and are excited for the opportunities that lie ahead to further enrich the Filipino community's cultural and social fabric within Jordanian society. Thank you for your unwavering dedication and support. May the joy and peace of this season fill your hearts and homes.”, Ambassador Santos said.
Simbang Gabi is a beloved Filipino tradition that unites the community during the holiday season. This series of dawn masses celebrates both faith and Filipino culture, fostering joy, reflection, and stronger bonds among family, friends, and fellow parishioners. END
