AMMAN, 10 February 2025 –On the first day of the Philippine Outbound Business Matching Mission to Jordan, the Philippine Embassy in Amman, led by Ambassador Wilfredo C. Santos, along with a delegation from the Department of Agriculture (DA) headed by Undersecretary for Policy, Planning, and Regulations Asis Perez, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Trade Commissioner Vichael Angelo Roaring, met with the Director-General of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) Prof. Nizar M. Mhaidat at their office today.
During the meeting, Undersecretary Perez conveyed the Philippines' intent to enhance trade relations with Jordan through greater market access for Philippine products, including seafood, canned goods, and personal care products, among many others. Both sides also exchanged insights on their respective regulatory processes to facilitate smoother trade and ensure compliance with international standards. Additionally, the officials explored opportunities for collaboration, identifying areas where Philippine and Jordanian products could complement each other to strengthen bilateral trade.
Ambassador Santos, Undersecretary Perez, and Trade Commissioner Roaring were accompanied by Second Secretary and Consul Angeli A. Payumo, DTI Assistant Director Maria Kathrina D. Rivera, DTI Division Chief Myrtle Faye L. Solina, DA Division Chief Joyce Bengo, and Cultural Officer Rachel Joy A. Pamorada. END
