On 2 May 2025, the Philippine Embassy in Jordan, through its COMELEC-deputized Electoral Board Officers, successfully conducted a mobile online voting and pre-voting enrollm

ent activity for parishioners and members of the Filipino community attending the anniversary celebration of OWWA held at the Annunciation Church Hall.

This initiative, held on the sidelines of the 43rd anniversary celebration of the Overseas Workers and Welfare Administration (OWWA) office in Jordan, was undertaken as part of the Embassy’s commitment to ensuring the right of suffrage for overseas Filipinos.

In his message to the Filipino community, Philippine Ambassador to Jordan Wilfredo Santos underscored the importance of active participation in the online national elections overseas.

I encourage our kababayan to exercise their right and privilege to vote. Your vote in the national elections is not only an exercise of your right of suffrage but is part of your contribution to the future of our country. Hindi lang po ito inyong karapatan, tungkulin din po ninyo ito bilang isang mamamayan. Mga kababayan, bumoto na po tayo para sa kinabukasan ng ating bansa. Please vote wisely, and make your vote count!” Ambassador Santos remarked.

The occasion also honored exemplary overseas Filipino workers and recognized their significant contributions to the Filipino community in Jordan. Ambassador Santos commended the dedicated leadership of Welfare Officer Ms. Rosalyn Lavin and the steadfast guidance and exemplary supervision of Labor Attaché Armi Evangel Peña of the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in advancing the welfare of overseas Filipino workers in Jordan. He also emphasized the tireless efforts of OWWA, especially in providing vital assistance such as welfare assistance, legal help, repatriation, and livelihood and reintegration programs.

The Philippine Embassy in Jordan remains steadfast in its commitment to empower overseas Filipinos through active civic engagement and inclusive access to the electoral process. With only eight days remaining before the conclusion of the 2025 National Elections Overseas, the Embassy calls on all qualified overseas voters to actively participate and make their voices heard.
