AMMAN, 13 June 2025 — The Philippine Embassy in Jordan commemorated the 127th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence, uniting over 100 members of the Filipino community in a meaningful celebration held at the Radisson Blu Hotel Amman within the Galleria Mall on 13 June 2025.

Carrying this year’s theme, “Kalayaan. Kinabukasan. Kasaysayan.” (Freedom. Future. History.), the celebration was led by Philippine Ambassador to Jordan Wilfredo C. Santos and his wife, Madame Geraldine C. Lucero-Santos. The program commenced with a solemn flag-raising ceremony, a symbolic tribute to the hard-won freedom of the Filipino people.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Santos praised the dedication of overseas Filipinos and underscored their vital contributions to the nation’s progress. “You are the true strength of our country overseas—paradigms of diligence, perseverance, and honor of the Filipino race,” he said. He urged the community to remain rooted in their national identity, even while abroad, and to continue striving toward a brighter future for their families and their homeland.

The event featured video messages from President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique A. Manalo, offering heartfelt tributes to the courage and resilience of Filipinos worldwide. Labor Attaché Armi Evangel N. Peña also delivered a message on behalf of Secretary of the Department of Migrant Workers Hans Leo J. Cacdac, reinforcing the government’s commitment to overseas Filipino workers’ welfare.

A significant highlight of the program was the recognition of the Pasinaya Partners, who received Certificates of Participation in appreciation of their valuable contribution for the success of the first Pasinaya in Jordan event held earlier this year on 14 February 2025 at Zghairon Café. This recognition underscored the importance of community collaboration in promoting Filipino culture and unity abroad.

The gathering concluded with a group photo and a shared breakfast, capturing the warm camaraderie and collective pride of the Filipino diaspora in Jordan. END
